We started on our journey into the world of BI and Analytics over 12 years ago. We developed SQL based data warehouses for some of the largest Companies working in the sector (Kier, Balfour Beatty, Morgan Sindall), amongst others. We have harnessed this experience, along with our expertise in everything related to data and our deep knowledge of the Construction Industry, to develop our product suite InsightsControl™.

Meet the team
Iain has over 40 years experience working in various roles and disciplines across the Construction Industry. A thought leader and visionary, Iain is passionate on delivering business benefits. As CEO of SPS, his key mission is to educate the Industry on how it can become a better, more robust Industry, fit for the 21st Century, by leveraging data and analytics.
“Our mission at SPS is to disrupt the Industry, we want to shake it up, and get it to change how it uses data. The Industry is a long way behind many other industries in its use of data to make key decisions, it is locked in an Excel driven World. We want to empower our clients to make this change, by providing solutions that will bring the right data to the right people and the right time”.
Outside of work Iain spends most of his time either coaching sport (Rugby and Cricket) or playing sport.
Chris has over 35 years experience working in the Construction Industry. Originally completing a degree in Quantity Surveying and working for contracting organisations, Chris quickly moved into the world of technology and software in Construction, developing solutions and starting on his data journey.
Chris has been developing and delivering data services for over 25 years, with particular expertise in the COINS database that is unparalleled in the World.

After completing a degree in Information Technology, Tristan started his Construction journey working for a Highways contractor in the South West of England. Tristan has over 20 years experience of working across the sector, helping business deliver business benefits through the use of technology.
Passionate about service and exceeding the client’s expectations, Tristan is developing the processes and overseeing the delivery of our solutions and services.

James heads up our product development team. He has been with SPS since September 2023, and has been the driving force behind developing our InsightsControl™ product suite.
Josh joined SPS in July 2024 and his already making his mark as part for the development team. Having previously worked for a marketing data company, developing marketing insights to help FMCG companies to optimise their sales, he has hit the ground running and is helping to develop, and deliver our InsightsControl™ products to our clients.

Shirley joined SPS team in September 2024, after working for COINS for 6 years as a developer and the main support analyst for COINS Analytics. She has intimate knowledge of the COINS system, both front end and back end, including development of both COINS Analytics solutions, OA Designer Reports, Workflows and Mobile integrations. Shirley will be working on the development and delivery of our data services that will enable clients to optimise their use of the data and technology by ensuring the structure, the coding and the data are fit purpose.

Nellie has worked in the COINS space for over 15 years, working for client organisations directly, for COINS itself, and for the last 10 years with SPS. Nellie has an excellent understanding of what COINS can do as a system, and how it can be best utilised so the clients can optimise its use across their organisations.
Nellie heads up our Project Management function, keeping both SPS’s and our client’s teams on their toes, to ensure the best result is achieved for our clients for all our projects.
Clive has worked with technology and data in the Construction Industry for over 25 years. Clive works with SPS as a data engineer, developing data pipelines and transforming data to drive our end user Visuals and Reporting products.
Archie started working for SPS in 2022. He is a pint-sized powerhouse of positivity at SPS, where he’s not just the office mascot but the official Chief Wellbeing Officer!
With a fluffy coat and an ever-wagging tail, Archie brings joy and comfort to our software development team and the wider client base. His daily routine involves knowing looks, impromptu play sessions, and the occasional “paws” for mindfulness.
Archie has a knack for sensing when stress levels rise and knows just how to lighten the mood, whether it’s with a playful bark or a well-timed stare. When he’s not busy providing emotional support during crunch times, he’s advocating for regular breaks and outdoor walks, reminding everyone that a little fresh air can spark creativity.
Archie loves to spread the message of wellbeing, encouraging colleagues and clients to embrace balance in their work-life journeys.
His ultimate goal? To make SPS not just a place of innovation, but also a hub of wellbeing.
